Friso Says “No Time!” to SB840
Frisco implemented SB840 and opted to go no frills or adding supplemental requirements to develop high density residential. Residents may not see eye-to-eye on this and sound out their preference to focus on low crime, traffic and family friendly.
Punchline: Eight Stories at THE MINIMUM (kinda like 8 seconds on the bull)!
SB840 Irving Texas is unique. SB840 in Irving is like no other city in Texas. City council set up supplemental requirements to build high density residential. This includes buildings being a minimum of 8 stories. That’s tall!
City of Austin Is Standing Tall
Austin is approaching SB840 with a light touch. It has implemented SB840 in commercial location - no industrial - and did not commit to applying SB840 to all multifamily and mixed use residential developments citywide.
What's Already Happening on the Ground
SB840 is changing how cities can control their local zoning. Some City councils are acting to protect single family homes, others are not acting, at least not yet. Supplemental requirements may keep development out of their cities.
